The cost of replacement

If you are looking to renovate your bathroom you will need to think about the following.

1. Are you going to do the work yourself? You need to be very competent to carry out all the tasks involved.

2. The removal and disposal of the bath. As an example cast iron can be very awkward to remove and disposal can be dangerous.

3. Potential breakage of tiles - can you replace those old ones?

TIP - Store the spare tiles under the bath. You will have these available in any need to be replaced in the future.

4. Do the walls need to be plastered again? If the bath has not been sealed or the grout becomes porous you may find the plaster below the level of the bath has become soft.

5.Choosing your new bath. Will you get value for money?

6. Choosing new taps, waste and overflow. It is most unlikely you will be able to use the existing fittings.

7. Fitting the new bath - have you got a competent plumber.

Bath panels

Don't worry if you damage the side panel to your bath. The corner bath panels can often be difficult to replace either because the colour is discontinued or the model is no longer in stock. We specialise in repairing these items either on site for repairs or in my workshop if the whole panel is to be resurfaced.

Most colours can be matched removing the need to replace the whole suite.
